Vera Jane Chase

Vera Jane Chase is a Writer, Storyteller, Published Author and Historian of the early Bahamas. She has a keen interest in Genealogy, Ancestry and has researched her own. Her writing interests are Short Stories, Poetry, Lyrics, Fiction and Non-Fiction.

Vera Jane began writing at the age of ten, stories of her home town and Islands supported by Catholic Nuns from "The Sisters of Charity" Mount St. Vincent New York, USA. After High School she continued her education, including Creative Writing at the Canadian Institute of Bankers, Toronto Canada: and received the "Letter of Accomplishment" for success in Marketing Skills, English Language, Literature, Organizational Behavior and Business Strategy.

Vera Jane Chase - A Passion Training Youth

On July 2nd,2004, several esteemed Writers including Mrs. Chase decided to institute a Non-Profit Writing Organization in the Bahamas. "The Commonwealth Writers of the Bahamas' is the name. 

The organization assists students in their Youth Program with Creative Writing, Literacy and Leadership Skills. The goal is to establish a Hospice in Nassau to accommodate students from the many far away Islands in the Bahamas. This would enable them to attend workshops.

Mrs. Vera Jane Chase is the published author of several books including: Take Me Back to Guanahani and Pirates Paradise. Her books are currently available at Chapter One Bookstore. Her soon to be released book, Islands My Islands will also be available in Nassau.
